Unit Overview:

This unit develops the big idea that what needs to be measured determines the unit of measurement.

In this 2-week unit students are provided opportunities to:

  • estimate, measure and compare the masses of objects using kilograms and grams
  • represent and compare decimals up to 2 decimal places using place value
  • measure and compare lengths of objects using metres (m), centimetres (cm) and millimetres (mm).

I like the alignment with syllabus outcomes and content in DET units.
I dislike the amount of digital games. And I really really dislike the lurid colours used for the slides.

Don't forget any slides that you don't wish to use can be deleted. You don't have to include them if you don't want to.
Because I am trying to cater for everyone, I like to provide many various options for teachers so that they don't have to source them. It's much easier to delete information than it is to add it. I have many teachers who love the games and use them as informal assessment opportunities, whole class instruction, instead of worksheets they have students answer the questions on mini whiteboards or in their workbook, then students get immediate feedback when the answer is submitted in the game. The possibilities are endless. I'm sorry you don't like the colours on the slides - however, I do provide a detailed preview before purchasing which shows exactly how the slides are presented.
