These teaching slides complement Early Stage 1 of the NSW English Sample Units of Work, Unit 10: Perspective Component B only, released by the Department of Education.

Please note: This product is not for the NSW English Sample Units released at the end of 2025 for 2026 implementation.
This product is for the end of 2024 release and will not be updated - if you are wanting the 2025/2026 units, these will be sold as brand new products.

Please note: that due to copyright licensing, little prep may be required on your part as I am not able to insert all resources into the teaching slides. I will provide prompts within the slides to ensure you know exactly what resources need to be inserted and on what slides to ensure that the flow of your lesson is fluid and seamless.

This resource is made in Google slides. They are PowerPoint compatible, however converting it to PowerPoint may cause warping or alignment issues. These can be rectified manually. Major issues may include:
  • Font - Google Education Foundation font has been used. Download font here.
  • Text box alignment issues may occur. To rectify, you will need to click on the text box, then select the paragraph line spacing option and change to 0 pt spacing before and after.


How to Use:

These “load and go” teaching slides have been purposefully created to make lesson delivery seamless, engaging, and aligned with the NSW English Sample Units.

Each Google Slide presentation includes detailed teaching notes sourced directly from the original NSW English Sample Unit documents, conveniently located in the presentation notes section beneath each slide.

Getting Started

  • Open in Google Slides to ensure all links and formatting display correctly.
  • If you wish to download a copy as a PowerPoint file, click:
    File → Download → Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx)
    Please note: Some minor formatting issues may occur as the slides were designed in Google Slides.

How to Teach with These Slides

  • Use the slides for whole-class explicit instruction, modelling, and guided practice.
  • Write, draw, or type directly over the slides to demonstrate tasks, brainstorm ideas, or complete shared writing activities.
  • Display independent tasks on the board for capable students to complete while you work closely with small groups or individuals who need additional support.
  • All hyperlinks and media are already embedded, allowing you to open resources instantly without scrolling through lengthy documents or managing multiple browser tabs.
