New English and Maths units:
Years 3-6 and Multi Age K-2 and 3-6 are to continue with the current units.
Only stage based units are changing.
There are no plans at this stage to make any changes to the Multi Age units.
The new units will be rolled out slowly - just like the initial release back in 2022.
This will start with K-2 for 2026.
The 3-6 units will be released in 2027.
Access to these units will be for DoE staff only.
The draft units will be available on the internal website and then after feedback - will be published in the Lesson Library.
Why are they changing?
The Maths and English sample units are being completely rewritten to align with, ‘Our Plan for NSW Public Education’ and the department’s ‘Explicit teaching statement’.
This is to ensure that the new sample units are easy to use and align with current, evidence based teaching practices.
English: What is changing?
English sample units are being completely rewritten.
This will start with Component B only.
Multi Age K-2 is not changing.
Component A will be developed in the future.
What is available now?
The new English K-2 Sample Scope and Sequence.
Terms 1, 2, 5 & 6 Mentor Text Lists.
Please note: While many of the mentor texts have not changed, there have been some texts replaced with new ones.
The order in which they appear in units is very different!

Because these units are being completely rewritten, I will be creating brand new versions.
If the copyright conditions allow me to.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to offer these as free updates for previous purchases. This is because each unit is being rebuilt from the ground up, with entirely new content, structure, and resources.
I truly appreciate your understanding. The time, effort, and resources required to create these comprehensive units are significant, and offering them as free updates would not be sustainable.
Release of our resources will solely depend on when the sample units are released and the time it takes to create the resources for all stages.
