CHPS Sample Units Are Coming to The Busy Honey Bee
We are excited to share some important news with our NSW Primary teaching community. Brand new CHPS Sample Units are on the way to The Busy Honey Bee.
What is CHPS?
CHPS is the acronym used for the four key NSW syllabus areas:
- Creative Arts
- HSIE
- PDHPE
- Science
These resources will be designed for Kindergarten to Year 6 and directly align with the NSW Sample Units released by the NSW Department of Education Curriculum team. This alignment ensures that content, learning intentions, and skill development reflect current NSW curriculum expectations.
Direct Alignment With NSW Sample Units
Each CHPS unit resource will be developed to mirror the structure, intent, and curriculum focus of the official NSW Department of Education Sample Units. This allows teachers to confidently implement the resources knowing they are aligned with departmental curriculum guidance while benefiting from additional classroom ready materials.
How the CHPS Units Will Be Released
Due to the scale of this project and the number of units being developed across K to 6, the CHPS resources will be released gradually.
We are unable to give definite or estimated timelines due to many varying factors (how long the resources take to create, life events, sample unit release etc).
We appreciate your patience as we work to stay on top of the release schedule and ensure each unit meets the high standards expected by NSW teachers.
What Will Be Released First
Each CHPS unit will be released in stages. The following components will be made available first:
- Teaching slides
- Unit of work
- Student workbook
Additional supporting resources will be added as the release continues.
This slow-release approach allows teachers to begin using the materials straight away while we continue developing the remaining units.
Designed for NSW Classrooms
All CHPS sample units are created specifically for NSW Primary classrooms. They are designed to reduce planning time, support syllabus alignment, and provide clear learning progression across stages.
Whilst these units are designed for the NSW curriculum, it is our intention to release an Australian Curriculum V9 version in the future.

Copyright infringement notices and legal action will be taken against any content creator found to replicate our work in any form. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Product descriptions
- Thumbnails and previews
- Teaching slides
- Worksheets and workbooks
- Units of work
- Designs, layouts, concepts, and structure
- Play on our Company name, The Busy Honey Bee, Academic Innovations Pty Ltd
Our resources are protected under copyright law. Replication, imitation, or adaptation of our materials without permission is strictly prohibited.
